Guest speaker Lorena Boswell, Quaker and recent graduate from Starr King School for the Ministry, shares lessons learned from founding and editing a street paper in Humboldt County.
Lorena Boswell is founder and former editor of The Humboldt Edge, (humboldtedge.com) a street paper of Humboldt County, California. The paper’s mission is to honor and invite the wisdom, knowledge, and creative expression of people living on the street who are experiencing homelessness and/or living on the edge economically. Lorena is a recent graduate of Starr King School of the Ministry, a Spoken Word Poet, and a community builder. She grew up in and around the UU Fellowship of State College, Pennsylvania, and is now a Quaker and member of Humboldt Friends Meeting.
