In a world that seems to be filled with human-caused catastrophes, it is easy to overlook the wonder and comfort of the natural world. Gillian Wegener is the author of two collections of poetry, The Opposite of Clairvoyance (2008) and This Sweet Haphazard (2017), both from Sixteen Rivers Press. She served as Modesto Poet Laureate from 2012-2016 and is the founding president of Modesto-Stanislaus Poetry Center.
