We prepared dinner for 40 homeless people at the We Care shelter
in Turlock. (Bob Santos organized a crew from CSU Stanislaus to serve.)

We prepared and served our standard roast pork tenderloin to the 160
people at the salvation Army's shelter on 9th and D, but we didn't take any

We prepared a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings for the
homeless men at the We Care shelter in Turlock.

When the Buildings and Grounds Committee has a "Garden Party" they don't mean
elegant women in floral print dresses and big hats sipping tea among the roses.

June 17, 2012: Father's Day BBQ Potluck
Every year we celebrate summer with a BBQ potluck on Father's Day.
Many of us wear Hawaiian shirts, as well. Rev. Joe joined in, with
one of the loudest shirts ever worn in a pulpit in the PCD. We
have a picture of him eating a hot dog with ... relish.

June 5, 2012: Democracty in Action
We used our classroom building as a polling station. Five of our
members worked here, another four at a second polling place.

May 17-20, 2012: Volunteering at CDA Cares
CDA Cares came to town. They gave free dental care to over 1,400
people over the course of 2 days (plus a day to set up and a day
to take down.) Just over 10% of our members were among the over 1,000
volunteers who helped.
