What's New

Comments, questions or problems:

A liberal religious voice in the Central Valley since 1953.

[See seven pictures John Patton took the day SCS installed the building. (450 KB)]

In the past week we have accomplished the following:

  • We moved the modular units into place. Everything went as planned, after we had a one day delay due to a trucking issue. It was a pretty impressive operation; just ask the people who were able to attend.

This coming week’s activities include:

  • We will install stabilizing modular jacks.

  • We will begin the rough plumbing to the underside of the units.

  • We may begin installing the CMU block that will cap both open ends of the underside of the units, if all goes well.
[Ed note - "CMU" is Concrete Masonary Unit. Right now the modular unit has two stem walls as foundations, running under the long sides. Both ends of the foundation are open, to let the workers get underneath for plumbing, electrical work and whatever else they need to do. The CMU will close the ends off.]

Summary:

I believe we’re maintaining a good pace, with no potential delays in sight.
